therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults in North Carolina
Clients
Children & Adolescents
Motions Counseling works with children, adolescents, and teenagers struggling with stress and anxiety, low self-esteem, social difficulties, perfectionism, and grief.
I may be a good fit for children and teens who:
often feel as if they “can’t get anything right” or “aren’t good enough,”
struggle to make or keep friends,
miss out on life experiences because of anxiety, stress, or fear,
have experienced something scary or traumatic,
appear overly reliant on their phone, social media, or other technology,
are navigating changes at home, such as divorce, blending families, or loss,
don’t feel like they “fit in,” or
are “big feelers” with emotions that are hard to manage.
Adults
Motions Counseling works with young adults (20s-30s) seeking support through life transitions, navigating achievement culture, or feeling disconnected from themselves, their purpose, or others.
I may be a good fit for young adults who:
are experiencing a big life event, such as a job change or breakup,
feel “behind” or as if they “can’t keep up” with their peers,
need communication and boundary-setting skills,
want to explore their family of origin and family relationships,
have experienced something traumatic,
need encouragement and motivation through feeling “stuck,” or
are curious about exploring their values, purpose, and goals in life.
